With this win, the Blazers improve to a record of 15-20, securing the 10th spot in the Western Conference. Conversely, the Pelicans remain at the bottom, with a record of 8-28.

Avdija's performance was nothing short of exceptional. He achieved 34 points on impressive shooting ( 10-18), including 3-5 from beyond the arc and 11-14 from the free-throw line. His stat line also included seven rebounds and 11 assists. Remarkably, Avdija kept turnovers to a minimum, with only two, a significant improvement from his average of 6.3 in the previous four games.
On the defensive end, Kris Murray stood out. Filling in for the injured Jerami Grant, Murray delivered a solid performance, recording three steals and two blocks.

For the first time in a while, the Blazers won the turnover battle, a key factor in their victory. They committed only nine turnovers compared to the Pelicans' 15. This is only the second time in the last 22 games that the Blazers have won the turnover battle.

The Blazers were fortunate to be down by only eight points after the first quarter. The Pelicans, led by Williamson, put pressure on the Portland defense, dominating the paint with 10 out of 16 successful shot attempts. This resulted in Donovan Clingan, Avdija, and Robert Williams III each being saddled with two fouls within the first six minutes.
The Pelicans also controlled the paint on the other end, recording six blocks in the first quarter, and 11 for the game.
Despite the Pelicans' early dominance, the Blazers maintained their composure, outscoring them 34-18 in the second quarter to take an 8-point lead into halftime.
The Blazers began the second half with a 9-2 run, extending their lead to 15 points and eventually reaching a 22-point advantage. The Pelicans attempted a late comeback, but were unable to cut the deficit to single digits in the fourth quarter, allowing the Blazers to secure a comfortable win.
