Inside the Deal: ‘Heist: Robbing The Bank of England’ Producer Partners with Rosegown Investments (2026)

Get ready for a thrilling tale of production deals and creative partnerships! The world of independent film and television just got a little more exciting with a recent investment that's sure to spark some debate.

John Farrar's Homecoming Studios, a rising star in the UK indie scene, has just sold a minority stake to Rosegown Investments. But here's where it gets controversial: Rosegown, an investor with a growing presence in the UK production industry, has now backed its fourth UK indie in just three years. And this is the part most people miss - these deals are not just about money, they're about shaping the future of storytelling.

Rosegown's "strategic investment" will fuel Homecoming's ambitious plans for formats, premium docs, and digital series. While the exact percentage stake and investment amount remain undisclosed, the impact is clear: Homecoming is poised to accelerate its creative output.

Farrar, an executive with an impressive track record on shows like HBO Max's "The Bakersfield Three" and ITV's "The Playboy Bunny Murder," launched Homecoming earlier this year from Leeds. The company is already making waves with a paid development deal with a major U.S. network and multiple co-production agreements, including the highly anticipated "Heist: Robbing the Bank of England" for Crime & Investigation.

But Rosegown's involvement doesn't stop there. Run by industry veterans Ravinder Chahal and Marc Collins, Rosegown has also invested in Vibrant Television, Little Venice Studios, and Dare Pictures. Their exit from Dare, as part of a second-round investment from America's Asylum Entertainment (now Pantheon Media Group), showcases their strategic approach to investing in the industry.

Farrar sees this partnership as a "transformative step" for Homecoming. "Our mission is to bridge the traditional and modern production models, from IP development to funding and distribution. By joining forces with Rosegown, we're supercharging a slate of formats, documentaries, and digital series that we can't wait to bring to market."

So, what do you think? Is this a win-win for both parties, or does it raise concerns about the future of independent production? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
