The Johor Baru City Council (MBJB) has extended the deadline for transferring parking credit balances from the MBJBSpot app to the new Parkmax@Johor app until December 31, 2023. This extension aims to provide users with more time to adapt to the new digital parking system, which was introduced in May 2023. The mayor of Johor Baru, Datuk Mohd Haffiz Ahmad, assured that no enforcement action will be taken against those who have not yet migrated, as the council is focused on facilitating the transition. The MBJBSpot app, which has over 400,000 users, will be discontinued, and the Parkmax@Johor platform currently has 695,677 registered users. The migration process has been generally positive, with some users reporting minor issues during the transition period. However, there are still concerns about unused MBJBSpot credit balances, and the council has clarified that users can transfer their remaining credits to the new platform. The unified platform is expected to provide greater convenience and improve the delivery of parking services. The transition period of one to three months is considered reasonable, and the council suggests providing a step-by-step guide, video tutorials, information counters, and assistance to senior citizens to ease the migration process. This initiative is part of the council's efforts to integrate parking services under a single platform for all Johor local councils.
